Google Data Center Campuses, Worldwide
Description
DLB designed and managed the construction of ALL of Google’s data center campuses worldwide. These facilities are widely considered to be the largest and most energy efficient data centers in the world.
Challenge
It was not very long after the commencement of Google’s data center campus build program that we discovered that we needed an approach that represented a significant departure from the design and construction industry norms. To create a “Googlized” data center in fact required a “Googlized” design and construction delivery system.
Highlights
Specific details about the data center campuses are restricted by the Non-Disclosure Agreement that we executed. However, Google has shared some elements of the campuses with the public via their hosting of two Data Center Efficiency Summits (April 2009 and May 2011).
